Muhraqa

Muhraqa, meaning "a place of burning", is the location of a Carmelite Monastery, that tradition says is located on the spot where Elijah dealt with the priests of Baal. (1 Kings 18)

Almost 500 meters above sea level, this spot commands a spectacular view of the Jezreel Valley. The rocky meadows near the summit are carpeted in poppies in the springtime.
